The Blues have signed David Perron to a four-year, $16M ($4.0M AAV) contract.

Perron was originally drafted by the Blues and played for them from 2008-to-2013 and against in 2017. The 30-year-old returns to St. Louis after one year in Vegas, where he posted career-highs in assists (50) and points (66). Perron will find himself back in the Blues’ top-6, where he will likely play alongside Ryan O’Reilly.

The Senators select Brady Tkachuk with the No.4 overall pick.

The brother of Flames’ winger Matthew Tkachuk, Brady had eight goals and 23 assists (31 points) at Boston University this season. Tkachuk elevated his stock during a great World Juniors tournament, where he had nine points (3G / 6A) in seven games. Like his dad Keith, Brady is a big-bodied forward with a great size/skill combo. He will have a chance to make the NHL this fall.

Perron is expected to draw back into the Vegas lineup for Game 5.

Perron was a healthy scratch for Game 4, but it looks like he will replace Ryan Carpenter on the Golden Knights’ third line. Perron is still searching for his first playoff goal since April 23rd, 2016—a span of 27 games—but he has eight assists in 14 games this postseason.

Ullmark will start Friday vs. the Canadiens.

Ullmark allowed one goal on 13 shots after replacing Chad Johnson in the Sabres 4-1 loss to the Coyotes on Wednesday. In three NHL appearances this season, Ullmark has posted a 2.40 GAA and .933 SV% and makes for a decent spot-start option tonight vs. the visiting Canadiens—Montreal has lost four in a row and nine of their last 10 (1-7-2).

Ullmark will start Monday vs. the Predators.

Ullmark was outstanding in his season debut back on January 11th. Ullmark, who is the Sabres goalie of the future, stopped 44 of 45 shots in a 3-1 win over the Blue Jackets and tonight he will make his second NHL start of 2018. The 24-year-old has gone 20-11-4 with a 2.44 GAA, .923 SV% and two shutouts in 42 games with Rochester (AHL) this season.

The Capitals have signed Lars Eller to a five-year extension worth $17.5M ($3.5M AAV).

Eller was set to be an unrestricted free agent this offseason but signs a five-year extension for the exact same cap-hit he already had ($3.5M). Eller has enjoyed the best offensive season of his career to-date, as he’s on-pace for a career-high in goals (17), assists (26) and points (43) after picking up 11 goals and 17 assists (28 points) in his first 53 games of 2017-18.

The Kings have reassigned Kurtis MacDermid to Ontario (AHL).

MacDermid has been in the Kings lineup for the last nine games, but failed to record a point while posting a minus-7 rating. Overall he had just one goal and three assists in 34 games with the Kings, so he will head to Ontario to get some seasoning.

The Kings have recalled Michael Amadio from Ontario (AHL).

Amadio, 21, had one goal in an eight-game stint with the Kings earlier this year but has spent the majority of his time in the AHL, where he has collected 34 points (11G / 23A) in 30 games. Amadio centred the Kings third line in Tuesday’s practice, so look for him to be in the lineup when they face the Penguins on Thursday.

The Sabres have reassigned Linus Ullmark to Rochester (AHL).

Ullmark was outstanding in his season debut on Thursday, turning away 44 of 45 shots in the Sabres win over the Blue Jackets. Ullmark is viewed as the Sabres goalie of the future but will go back to Rochester during the Sabres’ bye week and could return after the break. Ullmark could see an extended run with the Sabres if they elect to trade Robin Lehner like they are rumoured to.
