Philadelphia added to Lehigh Valley's (AHL) goaltending depth on Wednesday after they signed Eetu Makiniemi to a one-year, two-way contract worth $775,000. The 25-year-old goaltender has spent the previous two seasons with the San Jose Barracuda (AHL) and had an 8-8-0 record, .900 SV% and 3.14 GAA in 18 games in 2023-24. He made his NHL debut and only career appearance in 2022-23 with San Jose and appeared in two games.

Calgary has signed Jakob Pelletier to a one-year, two-way contract extension worth $800,000.

Calgary solidified some of their offensive depth on Thursday after they re-signed former 1st-round pick (2019 - 26th overall) Jakob Pelletier to a one-year, two-way contract worth $800,000. The 23-year-old left-winger appeared in 13 games in 2023-24 and had a goal, three points, and nine SOG while averaging just 9:16 TOI/GP in a bottom-six role.

Philadelphia has placed Ryan Johansen on unconditional waivers for the purpose of terminating his contract.

Johansen did not play a game after being traded to Philadelphia at last year's trade deadline and it is believed his contract is being terminated by Philadelphia for hip injury-related reasons. The 32-year-old was set to have a cap hit of $4 million for the 2024-25 season and will have up to 60 days to appeal the Flyers decision if he desires. In 63 games with Colorado in 2023-24 the 32-year-old had 13 goals, 23 points, 34 PIMs and 78 SOG.

The 27-year-old is entering his ninth NHL season and set career highs in goals (33), points (68), and SOG (244) in 76 games played in 2023-24.

Brink broke into the NHL finally in 2023-24 after two full seasons in the AHL and has earned himself a two-year, $3 million contract extension ($1,500,000 AAV). The 22-year-old right-winger was Phildaelphia's 2019 2nd-round pick (34th overall) and had 11 goals, 23 points, 81 SOG and 10 PIMs in 57 games in 2023-24.

Philadelphia has signed Anthony Richard to a two-year, two-way contract.

Richard will join his sixth organization in five years after he signed a two-year, two-way contract with Philadelphia on Tuesday. The 27-year-old played in nine games with Boston in 2023-24, picking up a goal, three points and two PIMs while averaging 10:36 TOI/GP. He has four goals and eight points in 24 career NHL games.

Michkov surprised the hockey world by terminating his contract with SKA St. Petersburgh (KHL) and signing a three-year, entry-level contract with Philadelphia. The 19-year-old is Phildaelphia's 2023 1st-round pick (7th overall) and had 19 goals and 41 points in 47 games with HK Sochi (KHL) while on loan last season.

Hathaway will stay in Philadelphia after a successful first season with the Flyers and has signed a two-year, $4.8 million ($2,400,000 AAV) contract extension on Monday. The 32-year-old veteran is entering his ninth NHL season and had seven goals, 17 points and 103 SOG in 82 games played in 2023-24.

The 28-year-old Centre was drafted in the seventh round of the 2016 draft (184th overall) many moons ago and last played in North America with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits (ECHL) in 2019-20.

Fedotov was the 188th overall pick of the Flyers in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. The 27-year-old netminder made his NHL debut late in the 2023-24 season, posting a 4.95 GAA and .811 SV% across three appearances (0-1-1).

Rizzo was drafted 216th overall in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft by the Carolina Hurricanes and has earned himself an entry-level contract after three seasons of collegiate hockey. The 22-year-old forward amassed 44 points (10G / 34A) in 30 games with the University of Denver this season.
