Letang has missed the Penguins last five games with a broken toe. This is positive news that he could return tomorrow vs. the Hurricanes.
Letang skated on his own this morning but not with the team. He will miss his fifth straight game tonight when the Pens take on the Rangers. He has the entire weekend to get ready for Pittsburgh's next game on Tuesday.
Word is that Crosby is NOT suffering from any concussion-like symptoms.
There is still no timetable for Crosby's return but he is likely done for the rest of the regular season.
This means it is unlikely that Letang will play tonight vs. the Sabres. We will get confirmation following the morning skate.
Letang will miss his third straight game and sixth in the last seven when the Penguins play tomorrow. His original timetable was 7-10 days so he could return later this week.
This could keep Crosby out for the remainder of the regular season. With them virtually locked into a playoff spot there would be no reason for them to rush their captain back. A timetable for his return has not yet been released.
Crosby took a puck to the mouth in his first shift of yesterday's game. A more detailed evaluation will likely be released tomorrow. Monitor his status.
Crosby was hit in the mouth with a slapshot this afternoon and did not return. He was brought to the hospital during the game. It sounds like he will just need dental work and no other injury was sustained. There should be more information on his injury tomorrow or Monday.
Crosby was hit in the mouth by a slapshot in his first shift of the game. He was bleeding from the mouth but made it to the dressing room under his own power. He will not return to the game which is obviously not positive news for Crosby's fantasy owners or the Penguins. Crosby has a history of concussion problems so any blow to the head has to make you worry. We will update you as soon as we hear something.
Malkin has missed the Penguins last nine games with a shoulder injury. He will return to the lineup and assume his spot on the Pens second line alongside James Neal and Brenden Morrow. The Pens also acquired Jarome Iginla last night and he is expected to play with Malkin and Neal, that sounds like a scary line. Get Malkin in your lineups.
Malkin continues to practice but isn't ready to play yet. Pittsburgh plays tomorrow and Saturday, monitor his status for tomorrow's contest with the Jets.
Letang has a broken toe. He'll miss at least a week, monitor his status next week.
That didn't take long. Letang was taken off of IR yesterday but is placed back on IR today because he broke his toe last night.
Letang was taken off the injured reserve list Tuesday afternoon after missing four games because of a lower-body injury. He logged more than 24 minutes in Pittsburgh's 1-0 win, its 13th in a row, but told RDS after the game that he was not 100 percent after the first period. According to TSN, the reason he wasn't at full strength was because he has sustained a broken toe. If the Penguins opt to put Letang back on injured reserve, Simon Despres would be his likely replacement in the lineup.
Looks like Letang will play, get him in your lineup. Will update if he is a late scratch.
Simon Despres has been sent down in order to clear space for Letang to come off of IR. Despres was in the lineup for the Penguins last game and Douglas Murray will not play tonight, so all signs point to Letang returning to the Pens blueline tonight.
Malkin did not take line rushes this morning which would indicate he won't play tonight. Monitor his status prior to puck-drop, if he plays make sure he is in your lineup.
Letang practiced on the Penguins first power-play unit this morning. He is more likely to play than Malkin is, monitor his status prior to puck-drop to see if he will be in the lineup.
Letang will miss his third straight game tonight with a groin injury. Consider him day-to-day.
