Grundstrom has spent most of the season with Ontario, where he has 20 points (9G / 11A) in 30 games. During his brief time with the Kings, he has no goals and four assists in nine games.

Sabourin was a healthy scratch last night vs. New Jersey but will replace Mikkel Boedker in the lineup in Buffalo. Sabourin has one goal, two assists and 17 PIMS in 16 games this season.

This isn't surprising with the Islanders in town. Georgiev started both games vs. the Isles last week, going 2-0 while stopping 70 of the 74 shots (.946 SV%) that he faced. He is now 4-1-0 with a 1.40 GAA, .955 SV% and one shutout in his career against the Islanders and makes for a solid option on a quiet Tuesday in the NHL.

With Morgan Rielly and Jake Muzzin both out, the Maple Leafs recalled Rasmus Sandin last night and Liljegren today and both could draw into the lineup on Tuesday. The 20-year-old has four goals and 20 assists (24 points) in 33 AHL games this season.

Couture was forced to leave Tuesday's game against the Blues with an obvious lower-body injury that he suffered while crashing into the end boards. Couture had to be helped off of the ice and it didn't look good right away. The early reports are that Couture suffered a fractured ankle and is "week-to-week" but will likely be out until mid-February. Look for the Sharks to release a detailed timetable in the coming 24 hours.

Rutta is dealing with a lower-body injury and is officially listed as day-to-day. With Rutta sidelined, Brayden Coburn will draw back into the lineup.

It was another busy night for Georgiev, who is now 4-3-0 with a 2.87 GAA, .919 SV% and one shutout in seven starts in December. He has played great on the road this year, going 8-2-0 in 10 starts, while Edmonton has lost eight of their last 10 home games (2-6-2) while averaging just 2.30 goals per game.

Liljegren has been promoted frequently lately but still hasn't made his NHL debut. It remains to be seen if he will play Tuesday but with Jake Muzzin out for an extended period of time, there should be a chance for the 20-year-old to play.

Henrik Lundqvist has started the last three games, including last night, so Georgiev will start against the Maple Leafs again tonight. Liljegren could make his NHL debut Saturday vs. the Rangers. It's hard to imagine the Maple Leafs recalling one of their top defensive prospects to sit as a healthy scratch when they already have seven healthy blueliners on the roster. Liljegren has three goals and 14 assists to lead all Marlies defensemen with 17 points in 27 games.
