Price will start Thursday vs. the Islanders.

Price allowed two goals on 30 shots in the Canadiens’ shootout win in New York on Tuesday. February hasn’t been the greatest month for Price, but he has played well in his last two games, stopping 58 of 62 shots (.936 SV%). In his first start against the Islanders, Price stopped 39 of 42 shots in a 3-1 loss back in late-January.

Price allowed two goals on 32 shots in the Canadiens’ loss to the Jets on Saturday. Price has lost five of his last six starts while posting an ugly 3.18 GAA and .890 SV%. February hasn’t been kind to Price, who will be facing the Rangers for the second time this season. In the first meeting, Price allowed four goals on 33 shots in a 5-4 loss.

Price gave up four goals on 36 shots in the Canadiens’ loss in Boston on February 12th. During the bye week, the Canadiens fired their head coach and hired Claude Julien and he will turn to Price this afternoon. He has not faced the Jets, but has gone 17-6-3 with a 2.20 GAA and .927 SV% on home ice.

Price allowed four goals on 25 shots in the Canadiens’ win in Arizona on Thursday. It wasn’t Price’s strongest performance, but it was enough to snap a three-game losing streak. Price has gone 2-4-0 with a 3.03 GAA and .903 SV% in his last six starts and while he’s struggled recently, Price is 2-0-1 with a 1.96 GAA and .935 SV% in his first three starts vs. the Bruins.

Price gave up four goals on 26 shots in the Canadiens’ loss in Colorado on Tuesday. He has lost three in a row while allowing a combined nine goals on 79 shots (.886 SV%). Price has been struggling recently, but he draws a strong matchup in Arizona—he allowed two goals on 29 shots in a 5-2 win in his first start vs. the Coyotes.

Price allowed three goals on 30 shots in the Canadiens loss to Washington on Saturday. Al Montoya started on Sunday, so obviously Price will go tonight in Colorado. Price has had his struggles recently, but tonight’s matchup might be just what the doctor ordered. He is a must-start against a really bad Avalanche.

The Kings have activated Tyler Toffoli (lower-body) from IR.

Toffoli has been sidelined since December 20th, but will return to the Kings lineup this afternoon in Philadelphia. Toffoli will be back on a line with Jeff Carter and Tanner Pearson and comes into play with 20 points (8G / 12A) in 32 games this season.

Price allowed two goals on 23 shots in the Canadiens’ loss in Philadelphia on Thursday. Dating back to December 23rd, Price is 5-7-3 with a 3.06 GAA (37th) and .902 SV% (t-32nd). Those are very un-Price-like numbers as you can see by where they rank in the NHL over that span—he’s a goalie who is typically found in the top-10 if not the top-5.

Toffoli (lower-body) is nearing a return, but isn’t expected to play on Wednesday.

Toffoli has been sidelined since December 20th continues to skate with his teammates and has been rotating through line rushes for the last week. Toffoli is now one day past his six week timetable, but continues to deal with some discomfort.

Price allowed two goals on 39 shots in the Canadiens’ win over the Sabres on Tuesday. It was a good way for Price to finish a tough month of January and tonight he will make his third start of the season versus Philadelphia—he has gone 2-0-0 with a 2.50 GAA and .929 SV% in the first two meetings.

Price hasn’t had a memorable month of January, but will look to turn things around after the All-Star break. He makes for a great start tonight vs. the Sabres.

Tonight he faces an Islanders team that has won four of their last five (4-0-1) and Price comes in at 6-4-2 with a 2.62 GAA and .908 SV% on the road this season.

Price has gone 3-3-0 with a 3.30 GAA and .886 Sv% in six January starts and tonight he will face the Penguins for the second time this season. Price allowed four goals on 41 shots in a 4-3 overtime loss in Pittsburgh on December 31st.

The Hurricanes have recalled Alex Nedeljkovic from Charlotte (AHL).

Nedeljkovic, 21, was a second round pick (No. 37 overall) in 2014 and this is his first NHL call-up. Cam Ward has started 19 games in a row, so either Nedeljkovic is up to serve as his backup or so the Hurricanes can get a look at him at the NHL level. The American born netminder has gone 5-12-0 with a 3.30 GAA and .884 SV% with Charlotte and 2-0-0 with 2.83 GAA and.921 SV% in a brief stint with the Florida Everblades (ECHL).

Price starts Monday afternoon in Detroit.

Price allowed four goals on 33 shots in the Canadiens’ win over the Rangers on Saturday. Since the calendar flipped to 2017, Price has gone 3-2-0 with a 3.75 GAA and .877 SV%. Tonight will be his third start vs. the Red Wings—he has gone 2-0-0 with a 0.49 GAA, .983 SV% and one shutout in the first two meetings.
