The Blues have signed Pavel Buchnevich to a four-year contract worth $23.2 million ($5.8M AAV).

Buchnevich was acquired from the Rangers last week and the RFA quickly signed a four-year extension with his new team. In St. Louis, Buchnevich will play with either Ryan O'Reilly or Brayden Schenn and has averaged 25 goals and 33 assists (57 points) per 82 games over the last three seasons.

The Blues have signed Nathan Walker to a two-year, two-way contract extension.

Walker has put up strong AHL numbers over the years but hasn't been much of a factor at the NHL level. Over the last three years, he has scored two goals with two assists (four points) in 16 games with the Capitals and Blues. Look for him to remain in the AHL for most of 2021-22.

The Blues have acquired Pavel Buchnevich from the Rangers for Sammy Blais and a 2022 second-round pick.

Buchnevich has taken his game to a new level over the last two seasons, averaging 24 goals and 39 assists (63 points) per 82 games in the two shortened seasons. Moving to St. Louis, Buchnevich becomes one of many unsigned RFA's who will be looking for a raise. Once signed, he'll likely replace Jaden Schwartz, who will be a UFA on July 28th.

The Red Wings have acquired Nick Leddy from the Islanders for Richard Panik and the No.52 overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft.

Leddy is entering the final year of a seven-year contract that carries a $5.5M AAV cap-hit. The 30-year-old is still a serviceable top-4 defenseman that will help bridge the gap to some of the Red Wings younger prospects who may still be a year away. Detroit will also look to flip him at next year's trade deadline to try and recoup some of the draft capital lost in this trade.
