Krug is one of the league's best offensive-defensemen and will be a strong replacement for Alex Pietrangelo. Krug will likely skate on the top-pair with Colton Parayko and will quarterback the top power-play unit. His PP production has been elite but that's been on one of the best units in the NHL. It will be interesting to see how much of that carries over to St. Louis. Krug has registered at least 44 points in five straight seasons, averaging eight goals and 43 assists (51 points) per season.
Faksa has not appeared in a game during the series, so it's not surprising that he won't be available for a must-win Game 6. Nicholas Caamano will stick in the lineup with Faksa out.
Faksa missed Game 4 and has already been ruled out of tonight's Game 5. Roope Hintz was banged up in Game 4 and is questionable tonight, so the Stars could be really thin at centre if he's a no go. At that point, they will likely go with 11 forwards and seven defensemen and we would likely see a lot of Tyler Seguin and Joe Pavelski double shifting on the fourth line.
MacEachern will replace Ivan Barbashev, who left the bubble to be with his wife for the birth of their child. The 26-year-old had seven goals and three assists (10 points) in 51 regular-season games.
After splitting the 2018-19 campaign between the NHL and AHL, MacEachern spent the entire 2019-20 season (until it was paused) with the Blues, scoring seven goals with three assists (10 points) in 50 games. The 26-year-old, former third-round pick now has 10 goals and five assists (15 points) in 79 career NHL games and will now be a fixture in St. Louis' bottom-6 for at least the next few seasons.
Tucker was a seventh-round pick in 2018 and finished the 2019-20 OHL season eighth among defensemen with 56 points (17G / 39A) in 55 games between the Barrie Colts and Flint Firebirds. He will likely report to San Antonio (AHL) when he turns pro.
