

Paul has been in the lineup for the last four games but did no record a point. Magnus Paajarvi (undisclosed) will replace him on the Senators third line.



Girgensons, who has just one assist in his last seven games, is expected to miss at least a few weeks with an upper-bod injury he suffered on Thursday. With Girgensons out, Remi Elie will likely become a regular in the lineup.


Guentzel was set to become a restricted free agent this summer but is now signed though the 2023-24 season. Guentzel is on-pace to shatter all of his previous career highs, picking up 15 goals and 18 assists (33 points) in 37 games—a 33-goal, 40-assist (73 points) pace.

Vasilevskiy surrendered three goals on 28 shots in the Lightning’s win in Edmonton last Saturday. Since returning from a fractured foot, Vasilevskiy has gone 3-0-1 with a 2.70 GAA and .930 SV%. The 24-year-old has been outstanding this season, especially at home, where he has gone 7-3-0 with a 2.30 GAA and .932 SV%.

Vasilevskiy allowed two goals on 38 shots in the Lightning’s win in Vegas on Tuesday. Vasilevskiy was given Thursday night off but will be back in net tonight in Edmonton. Since returning from injury, Vasilevskiy has stopped 121 of 129 shots (.938 SV%), picking up right where he left off. Vasilevskiy is a must-start whenever he gets the nod.

Santini was activated from IR on December 1st but hasn’t played since October 20th. Santini does not have a point in one NHL game or three AHL games.

Prior to getting hurt, Vasilevskiy was tied for the league-lead in wins (9), 10th in GAA (2.29) and tied for 12th in SV% (.927). He is one of the best goalies in the NHL but does draw a difficult matchup with the Maple Leafs in town.


Girgensons has been in the lineup for the last five games but will be replaced by Jason Pominville on Saturday. Girgensons has just six points (2G / 4A) in 27 games this season.

With Matt Duchene going on IR, Paul comes up from the AHL again. Paul has two goals and nine assists (11 points) in 15 games with Belleville this season but just seven points (3G / 4A) in 42 career NHL games, including six this season.



McDonagh was forced to leave Thursday’s game vs. the Sabres and is questionable for Saturday due to an upper-body ailment. If McDonagh doesn’t play on Saturday, look for Slater Koekkoek to get back into the lineup.
