Toronto added to its forward depth on Wednesday as they signed 24-year-old undrafted forward Alex Steeves to a one-year, two-way contract extension. The 6'0" centre has appeared in seven NHL games for the Maple Leafs in the last three seasons but spent the vast majority of his time with the Toronto Marlies (AHL) since joining from Notre Dame (NCAA) in 2021-22. Steeves had an impressive AHL campaign in 2023-24 with 27 goals, 57 points and 26 PIMs in 65 games played.

Danford was Toronto's 2024 1st round pick (31st overall) and signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Maple Leafs on Friday. The 18-year-old defensemen enjoyed a strong second season in Oshawa (OHL), picking up a goal and 33 points in 64 games played.

Pare was a sixth-round pick of the Bruins in 2017 but spent the last two season with the Colorado Eagles (AHL), and tallied 35 points (14G / 21A) in 61 games in 2024. He will start the 2025 season with the Toronto Marlies (AHL).

Myers had a really strong year in the AHL in 2024, posting 23 points (4G / 19A) and a plus-29 rating in 61 games for the Syracuse Crunch. He'll likely be an AHLer to start 2024-25 but gives the Maple Leafs some nice organizational depth on the right side of the blueline. He appeared in five NHL games with the Lightning last year and has 158 career games under his belt.

Mermis spent most of 2024 with the Minnesota Wild, where he set career highs in games (47), goals (3), assists (5) and points (8). Expect him to start 2024-25 in the AHL--he had 26 points (5G / 21A) in 63 AHL games in 2023.

After four seasons in Chicago, Reese Johnson has signed with Minnesota on a one-year, two-way contract. The undrafted 25-year-old has 141 career NHL games under his belt after collecting two goals and five points in 42 games played in 2023-24.

Matt Murray will remain a Toronto Maple Leaf after signing a one-year, $850,000 contract extension on Monday. The 30-year-old last appeared in the NHL in 2022-23 with Toronto but made three appearances with the Toronto Marlies (AHL) in 2023-24, putting up a 4.03 GAA and .846 SV%.

Toronto solidified its crease on Monday by making its second goalie signing of the day by bringing in Anthony Stolarz to a two-year deal worth $5.0 million ($2.5M AAV). The 30-year-old netminder made a massively positive impression in his first year backing up in Florida, leading all back-ups by posting a 16-7-2 record, 2.03 GAA and .925 SV%.

Recent cup winner Oliver Ekman-Larsson will join the Toronto Maple Leafs on a four-year deal worth $14.0 million ($3.5M AAV). The 32-year-old is coming off his strongest statistical season since 2018-19 after he had nine goals and 32 points in 80 games with the Panthers in 2023-24.

After trading for his rights earlier in the weekend, Toronto has completed a six-year contract worth $27.0 million ($4.5M AAV) with veteran Chris Tanev. The 34-year-old appeared in 75 games with Calgary and Dallas in 2023-24, picking up two goals, 19 points, 24 PIMs and a +22 plus/minus. In 14 NHL seasons, he has 33 goals and 190 points in 792 games played.

Toronto locked up their goaltender of the future on Monday as it signed Joseph Woll to a three-year contract extension worth $10.98 million ($3.66M AAV). The 25-year-old netminder took a large step forward in 2023-24 despite battling injuries throughout the season, with his 12-11-1 record, 2.94 GAA and .907 SV% in 25 games played.

Domi's first season in Toronto went down as a success after he signed a four-year, $15 million ($3,750,000 AAV) contract extension on Sunday. The 29-year-old left-winger completed his ninth NHL season in 2023-24, picking up nine goals, 47 points and 118 PIMs in 80 games played.

Lorentz had found himself in Florida's lineup for the first four games of the Stanley Cup Finals but will be the odd man out on Tuesday as Ryan Lomberg enters the Panthers' fourth line. Lorentz had appeared in 16 games this postseason, picking up two goals, three points, 30 SOG, 10 PIMs and a -9 plus/minus.

The 32-year-old appeared in 64 games for Dallas during the regular season, with two goals, 12 points, 56 SOG, 33 PIMs and a +10 plus/minus.
