The Stars have acquired Chris Tanev in a three-team trade with the Flames and Devils.

The Stars gave up a 2024 second-round pick, a 2026 fourth-round pick, Artem Grushnikov and a conditional 2026 third-round pick to acquire Tanev. The Flames retained 50 percent of Tanev's $4.5M AAV cap-hit, while the Devils' retained 25 percent. Tanev is a rugged defenseman, who has racked up 171 blocked shots this season to go along with one goal and 13 assists (14 points) in 56 games. He should bring plenty of stability to the Stars' second-pairing.

Woll has been recalled from his conditioning loan with the Toronto Marlies (AHL).

Woll has not played since December 7th due to an ankle injury and, after participating in practice the last two weeks, joined the Marlies (AHL) for a conditioning stint. The 25-year-old performed exceptionally with the Marlies and will likely return to the Maple Leafs' crease imminently. He will be looking to build off his strong start to the season and add to his 8-5-1 record, 2.80 GAA, and .916 SV%.

Rielly will return from his five-game suspension on Thursday in Vegas.

Primeau will start on Thursday vs. Pittsburgh.

The Canadiens have struggled to keep the puck out of their net lately. Coincidently, their only win in the last six games is the only time they've allowed fewer than three goals and the only time Primeau has played in that span, a 13-save shutout in a 5-0 victory over the Anaheim Ducks on February 14th. The Canadiens enter action as sizeable +224 road underdogs against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday night.

The 27-year-old had been enjoying a breakout season in his fourth year in the NHL, with 13 goals, 26 points, 69 SOG, 46 PIMs and +16 plus/minus in 53 games before his injury.

Mermis will draw back into Minnesota's lineup on Tuesday in Winnipeg.

Mermis had been a regular in the lineup for six weeks before being a healthy scratch in the last two games. The 30-year-old Mermis has seven points (2G / 5A) in 37 games this season while primarily playing on a defensive pair with Jon Merrill, who will draw out of the lineup in favour of Mermis on Tuesday.
