The Maple Leafs have signed Ryan Tverberg to a three-year, entry-level contract.

The 2020 seventh-round pick will join the Toronto Marlies for the remainder of the season on a professional tryout, so this contract doesn't kick in until 2023-24. Tverberg had 30 points (15G / 15A) in 35 games with the University of Connecticut this season.

The 23-year-old has played in three games for the Maple Leafs this season, failing to pick up a point and collecting a -2 plus/minus rating.

Murray allowed four goals on 26 shots (.846 SV%) but still snapped a three-game losing streak with a victory over Edmonton his last time out. The 28-year-old has enjoyed an up-and-down injury-riddled season, with his 12-6-2 record, 2.86 GAA and .905 SV%. He will take on the struggling Buffalo Sabres, who have lost four straight and six of their last seven after a 2-1 overtime loss to the New York Rangers last game.
