Lindgren will start Tuesday vs. the Golden Knights.

Lindgren stopped all 38 shots that he faced in the Canadiens’ shutout win in Chicago on Sunday. It was an unreal season debut for Lindgren, who is with the team because of Carey Price’s injury. He earned a second straight start tonight and makes for a strong spot-start option with the Golden Knights in town.

The Canadiens have recalled Charlie Lindgren to be Al Montoya’s backup.

Lindgren has gone 3-3-0 with a 3.53 GAA and .885 SV% in nine starts with Laval (AHL) so far this season. The 23-year-old has stopped 82 of 87 shots that he has faced in his three career NHL games. With Carey Price out, he will serve as Montreal’s No.2 goaltender for the time being.

Ovechkin said it’s “nothing serious” after leaving Monday’s practice; expects to practice on Tuesday.

Ovechkin got tangled up at practice and limped off, but said after the session that it’s nothing serious and he expects to return to practice on Tuesday. The Capitals avoided disaster today and with them off until Thursday, expect the Russian sniper to be in the lineup in Vancouver.

Wilson will move into the Capitals' top-6 on Friday.

Andre Burakovsky has had a slow start to the season, so Wilson will move up to a line with Nicklas Backstrom and T.J. Oshie for tonight’s game in Detroit. This obviously helps Wilson’s fantasy status, but he has yet to record a point one four shots in three games this season. The 23-year-old has a career-high of just seven goals and 23 points.

van Riemsdyk (concussion) will not travel out west on the Hurricanes’ four-game road trip.

van Riemsdyk was sidelined by a concussion in the season opener and is expected to miss at least the next four games as the Hurricanes head out to western Canada. Look for Carolina to recall a defenseman from Charlotte (AHL) to serve as a seventh defenseman.

Wilson has served his suspension and will make his season debut on Friday.

Wilson missed the first four games of the season because of a suspension he earned in the preseason. He will draw into the lineup on the third line with Lars Eller and Brett Conolly and comes into this season after posting 19 points (7G / 12A), 95 shots and 239 hits last year.

The Coyotes have sent Dylan Strome to Tucson (AHL).

Strome failed to record a point with three shots on goal while averaging 12:09 TOI in his first two games of the season. The Coyotes obviously feel that Strome has some things to work on, so he will head to Tucson to grow his game a bit. Mario Kempe was recalled to take Strome’s spot on the roster.

Chychrun (knee) is close to getting back on the ice; rehab is ahead of schedule.

Chychrun underwent knee surgery in August and his season appeared to be in jeopardy. However, Chychrun is an athletic freak and is already close to getting back on the ice and it looks like he will return at some point this season. The second-year defenseman remains without a timetable for his return, but it’s great news that he is already ahead of schedule.
