



The move to LTIR means that Ehlers will have to miss 10 games or 24 days, whichever comes first. In Ehlers' case, he won't be eligible to play until February 14th vs. the Blackhawks.


Ehlers suffered a knee injury in a knee-on-knee collision with Dmitry Orlov on Tuesday. Orlov was suspended for two games for the hit but it looks like it's going to cost Ehlers a lot more time.


Quinton Byfield was called up from the AHL this morning and will replace Kupari on the third line vs. the Avalanche.

Jonsson-Fjallby will draw into the lineup for Daniel Sprong, who will be a healthy scratch. Jonsson-Fjallby has one assist in eight games with the Capitals this season and 21 points (10G / 11A) in 26 AHL games.

DeMelo missed one game but will play in Detroit, which is big news for the Jets, who are going to be without three regulars on the back-end.

Samberg was a second-round pick (No.43 overall) in 2017 and is set to make his NHL debut on Thursday with Brendan Dillon, Logan Stanley and Nathan Beaulieu out.
