Slavin, 30, is entering the final year of his seven-year contract with a $5.3 million cap hit that he signed with the Canes in the 2017 offseason. He receives a raise of $1.13 million, with his new contract being the highest of his career. With this new extension, the Canes lock him up until he’s 39 years old.
