Dell has a 2.63 GAA and .906 SV% in five games (2-3-0) with the Ontario Reign (AHL) this season. His last appearance in the NHL was during a four-game stint with the San Jose Sharks in the 2022-23 campaign. Assuming he clears waivers, he will likely serve as a depth option for the Kings between the pipes.

With James Reimer returning to the Sharks' crease on Monday, Dell was sent back to the AHL. In 21 AHL games this season, Dell has gone 7-11-1 with a 3.23 GAA and .898 SV%.

He takes on the Pittsburgh Penguins, who lost their previous game 6-0 to Los Angeles but is eighth in the NHL in shots per game (33.3).

With San Jose coming off a 4-0 victory over Montreal Tuesday, Aaron Dell will make his season debut Wednesday in place of the injured James Reimer. The 33-year-old veteran has a .905 SV% and 2.93 GAA through 126 career NHL GP across six NHL seasons. He takes on the Toronto Maple Leafs, who are on a four-game winning streak and have won seven of their last nine contests.

Dell has a 3-3-0 record along with a 3.22 GAA and a .904 SV% with the San Jose Barracuda (AHL) prior to being recalled to the Sharks Tuesday. The 33-year-old veteran has played in 126 career NHL games before, posting a 50-47-13 record with a .905 SV% and 2.93 GAA.

Dell returns to the Sharks, who he broke into the NHL with in 2017. IN 2022 he split his time between Buffalo (NHL) and Rochester (AHL). With the Sabres, he was 1-8-1 with a 4.03 GAA and .893 SV%.

Batherson suffered a lower-body injury on the play that is going to keep him out long-term. This is not the first time Dell has engaged in contact out of the crease but the first time he's been suspended.
