The Maple Leafs have claimed Adam Brooks off of waivers from the Golden Knights.

This is the third time that Brooks has been claimed this season. He was originally claimed from Toronto by Montreal, then by Vegas. He had two goals in seven games with the Golden Knights and has a total of three points (2G / 1A) in 11 games this season.

The forward-needy Golden Knights will likely plug Brooks right into their lineup on Thursday. Vegas will be Brooks' third team of the season, after previously being claimed from the Maple Leafs. He has one assist in four games this season.

Brooks split his 2021 season between the NHL and AHL. With the Maple Leafs, he scored four goals with one assist (five points) in 14 games. With the Marlies, he had 13 points (4G / 9A) in 17 games. In Montreal, he'll have a chance to play an early-season role while Cedric Paquette and Paul Byron are sidelined.

The Maple Leafs have signed Adam Brooks to a two-year, two-way contract extension worth $1.45 million ($725K AAV).

Brooks provides the Maple Leafs with fourth-line centre depth for the next two seasons. The 24-year-old made his NHL debut this season, chipping in three assists in seven games. During his time with the Marlies, he tallied nine goals and 11 assists (20 points) in 29 games.

Brooks, who was a fourth-round pick in 2016, has eight goals and eight assists (16 points) in 20 AHL games this season. Brooks will replace Ilya Mikheyev in the lineup but will likely make his debut on the fourth line with Frederik Gauthier and Dmytro Timashov.
