Calgary has signed Adam Klapka to a one-year, two-way contract.

The tallest forward in the NHL (6'8") has been signed by Calgary on Tuesday as they signed Adam Klapka to a one-year, two-way contract. The 23-year-old towering right-winger made his NHL debut with the Flames in 2023-24 and had a goal, 19 PIMs and a -1 plus/minus while averaging just 6:46 TOI/GP.

Klapka will draw back into the Flames' lineup on Tuesday in Vancouver.

Walker Duehr will be a healthy scratch on Tuesday, allowing Klapka to re-enter the lineup. Klapka has played four games with the Flames this season but has spent most of the 2023-24 campaign with the Calgary Wranglers (AHL), scoring 45 points (21G / 24A) in 64 games.

Klapka had been enjoying a strong second season with the Calgary Wrangles (AHL) with 21 points (10G/11A) in 33 games played and has earned his first NHL call-up of his career Thursday. The 6'8" towering right winger was an undrafted free agent for the Flames from Czechia.

Klapka had a shot to make Calgary's opening night roster but has unfortunately been re-assigned to the Calgary Wranglers (AHL) to start the 2023-24 season. The 23-year-old has yet to make his NHL debut after being signed as an undrafted free agent in 2022-23. He returns to the Wranglers where he had 13 goals, 12 assists, 80 PIMs, and a +1 plus/minus in 60 games during his inaugural AHL season in 2022-23.
