Debrincat (illness) is on the ice for warmups and is expected to play in Tuesday's game against the Jets.

DeBrincat was absent from Wednesday's morning skate due to illness but did skate Thursday and was a game-time decision vs. Winnipeg. The 25-year-old has been off to an absurd start during his Detroit tenure as he leads the NHL in goals (9) and is third in points (13) while adding 23 SOG and a +6 plus/minus across seven games thus far in 2023-24.

The Red Wings have signed Alex DeBrincat to a four-year extension worth $31.5 million ($7.875M AAV).

DeBrincat was reportedly seeking a long-term deal, which Red Wings GM Steve Yzerman was not keen on giving out. The term was likely what held up the trade, which had long been rumoured to be happening. DeBrincat is now signed through the 2027 NHL season and is one of four forwards in Detroit with at least four years on their deals, joining Dylan Larkin, Andrew Copp and J.T. Compher.

The Red Wings acquired Alex DeBrincat from the Senators for a conditional 2024 1st round pick, a 2024 4th round pick, Dominik Kubalik and Donovan Sebrango.

DeBrincat was an RFA that had made it known that he was not interested in re-signing with the Senators. After one season, where he scored 27 goals with 39 assists (66 points) in 82 games, DeBrincat was traded to his hometown team, where he immediately becomes their best goal-scorer and a crucial part of the Red Wings' rebuild. DeBrincat is a two-time 40-goal scorer and has averaged 38 goals and 38 assists (76 points) per 82-games over the last three seasons.

Alex DeBrincat is a game-time decision Monday vs. Anaheim.

DeBrincat has point in five straight games (1G/4A) but is a game-time decision Monday as Ottawa hosts Anaheim Monday. If the 24-year-old is forced to miss some time, it will be a big loss for the Senators, as he has seven goals, 22 points, 93 SOG and 12 PPP through 27 games this season.

DeBrincat was added to the COVID-19 reserve list on Monday.

Getting added to the COVID-19 reserve list means that DeBrincat likely will not be available for the Tuesday/Wednesday back-to-back in Nashville. DeBrincat's roommate Adam Boqvist was also added to the list, so Chicago could be without two of their best offensive weapons in a tough series with the Predators.

The Blackhawks have recalled Alex DeBrincat from Rockford (AHL).

DeBrincat, 19, was “sent down” yesterday as a paper transaction to get under the salary cap ceiling before they put Marian Hossa on LTIR. The 2016 No.39 pick had 127 points (65G / 62A) in 63 games with Erie (OHL) last season and is expected to open the 2017-18 season on either the second or third line.
