Tanguay (lower-body) will make his Coyotes debut on Saturday.

Tanguay was acquired from Colorado on Monday, but missed the first two games with a lower-body injury. Tonight he will make his Coyotes debut and it is expected to come on the top line with Antoine Vermette and Anthony Duclair. Tanguay has 22 points (4G / 18A) in 52 games this season.

The Coyotes have acquired Alex Tanguay, Conner Bleackley and Kyle Wood from the Avalanche for Mikkel Boedker.

Tanguay is set to become an unrestricted free agent and is now set to play with the fifth different team of his NHL career. The veteran winger has four goals and 18 assists (22 points) in 52 games this season and is expected to slide into the Coyotes’ top-6 for Boedker.

Tanguay (knee) is expected to be in the lineup on Thursday.

Tanguay has been sidelined since November 6th with a knee injury, but he is expected to return to the lineup on Thursday. The Avalanche could use a scoring forward in their top-6 right now, so Tanguay’s return is perfectly timed. He had six points (2G / 4A) in 14 games before getting injured.

Tanguay (knee) resumed skating on Tuesday.

Tanguay has been out since November 6th with a knee injury, but he was back on the ice with a small group of teammates on Tuesday. Tanguay was never given a definitive timetable to return, he was simply expected to miss “an extended period” of time. Tanguay’’s return to the ice is obviously a positive sign, but don’t expect to see him back in the lineup until December.

Tanguay (face) will not play Tuesday.

Tanguay will miss his second consecutive game Tuesday night with a facial fracture. He participated in the morning skate but will not play against the Arizona Coyotes. Avs coach Patrick Roy said Tanguay is still feeling pain on the side of his head and has had blurred vision.

Tanguay is out indefinitely with a facial fracture.

Tanguay suffered the fracture in the Avs' loss to the Capitals on Thursday. Tanguay will not play Saturday against Carolina and no prognosis on how long he'll miss has yet to be determined. Tanguay, the team's leading goal scorer with seven, took a slap shot to the face from Washington's Alex Ovechkin and was briefly hospitalized. "Alex texted me and said he will be back as soon as he can," Roy said.

We won’t know until closer to game time whether Alex Tanguay will be in the lineup for the Avs against the New York Rangers tonight.

The Avalanche did not have a morning skate today at Madison Square Garden, so there were no updates given on either player’s status, just that more would be determined once the team gets to the rink later.

Tanguay is questionable for this afternoon's game with a knee injury.

Tanguay did not practice on Friday because he tweaked his knee on Thursday. Monitor his status during pre-game warmups, if he is unable to go, expect P.A Parenteau to slide back into the lineup. Tanguay has one goal and one assist in three games since returning to the lineup on January 24.

Tanguay (hip/knee) returns for the Avalanche tonight.

Tanguay has been out since Nov. 2 with knee and hip injuries. He will play on a line with Paul Stastny and Gabe Landeskog, on the right wing. While Tanguay will play against the Panthers, he will get Saturday's game off against Tampa Bay. "We don't want to overdo it right away with Alex," Avs coach Patrick Roy said. "The plan is to have him take (Saturday) off, then come back Tuesday in Dallas. It's good to have him back. We were playing so well when he got hurt. It's nice to have everybody back. This is kind of the lineup we projected, and we have more depth now."

Tanguay (knee/hip) is set to be activated from IR.

Tanguay has been out since November 2 which caused him to miss 36 games. The Avalanche assigned Brad Malone to Lake Erie (AHL) this afternoon to clear space for Tanguay to be activated. This move had been foreshadowed throughout the month, Tanguay has been skating furiously lately. At 34-years-old, Tanguay is passed his prime years, but can still be a serviceable fantasy asset. He registered nine points (3G / 6A) with a plus-8 rating in 13 games this season. He finished third on the Flames with 27 points (11G / 16A) in 40 games last season, so if you need depth at either wing position take a look at Tanguay (6% owned in Yahoo!)

Tanguay (knee/hip) skated for the second consecutive day and is progressing in a positive direction.

Tanguay wants to push things even harder now, to hopefully fully recover from the hip problems that developed while rehabbing an earlier knee injury. He has been out since November 2. Obviously, feeling good after some relatively mild skating is not the same as feeling good skating in game-like conditions, but is is positive news for the Avalanche.

Alex Tanguay (knee) will be out for at least two weeks and will then be reevaluated.

Tanguay left Saturday's game and did not return and will now miss at least two weeks. This is a tough break for the Avs' veteran who has nine points (3G / 6A) in 13 games. Fortunately for Colorado they will be getting Jamie McGinn back just as Tanguay leaves the lineup.

The Calgary Flames have traded forward Alex Tanguay and defenceman Cory Sarich to the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for forward David Jones and defenceman Shane O'Brien.

The former first round pick of the Avalanche in 1998 will return to Colorado after spending the last seven seasons with the Flames, Canadiens and Lightning. He played for the Avalanche from 1999 to 2006 where he scored 400 points in 450 games. The 33-year-old forward finished the 2013 with 11 goals and 16 assists (27 points) in 40 games on a weak Flames team.
