Campbell, 27, had one assist in 33 games with the Coyotes last season. He was a third round pick (74th overall) in 2008 and plays a physical game, but doesn’t have much of and offensive game to speak of.
Campbell, 26, got the call-up before Brandon Gormley and Philip Samuelsson following the All Star break because he has played better in Portland recently according to coach Dave Tippett. Campbell has 12 points (3G / 9A) in 40 games with Portland.
Campbell was a minus-1 in 11:35 TOI in his Coyotes debut on Saturday. With his return to the AHL, expect Chris Summers to get into the lineup on Thursday.
