Andrew Mangiapane News
The Capitals have acquired Andrew Mangiapane from the Flames for a 2025 second-round pick.

Mangiapane had a breakout campaign in 2022, scoring 35 goals with 55 points, earning him a three-year contract with a $5.8M AAV cap-hit. He failed to find that same success in 2023 and 2024, combining for less goals (31) and 52 assists (83 points) in 157 games. Entering the final year of that deal, the Capitals are banking on another big contract year season from the 28-year-old winger.

Andrew Mangiapane has served his one-game suspension and will be in the lineup Friday vs. Toronto.

Mangiapane will return to the Flames lineup on Friday after serving a one-game suspension for cross-checking Seattle Kraken forward Jared McCann. Look for Mangiapane to slot back onto the top line with Jonathan Huberdeau and Elias Lindholm. Mangiapane has seven points (4G / 3A) in 11 games while averaging 15:12 time-on-ice per game.

Mangiapane spent most of his time in the NHL in 2019, scoring eight goals with five assists (13 points) in 44 games with the Flames. Mangiapane will likely be reserved to a fourth-line role, with Johnny Gaudreau, Matthew Tkachuk and Milan Lucic ahead of him on the depth chart.
