Shaw, who was a restricted free agent, was acquired from Chicago for two draft picks during the NHL Draft over the weekend. The 24-year-old forward spent the first five years of his career with the Blackhawks, tallying 137 points (70G / 67A) and 300 PIMS in 322 games, including 34 points (14G / 20A) in 78 games last season.
Shaw missed the final four games of the regular season, but will be ready for game one on Wednesday. Shaw had 14 goals and 20 assists (34 points) in 78 games this season.
Shaw will miss his fourth consecutive game with an undisclosed injury. There is no word on what is ailing Shaw, so it’s hard to saw when he is expected to be back. He is day-to-day and his status for Game 1 of the playoffs remains unclear.
Shaw did not skate on the top line in the morning skate, but coach Joel Quenneville announced that Shaw will be on a line with Jonathan Toews and Brandon Saad tonight vs. the Flyers. Shaw scored two goals in the Blackhawks win over the Hurricanes on Monday.
Shaw has missed the last three games with an upper-body injury but should be back on Wednesday. He was reportedly close to returning on Sunday, but with Phillip Danault getting sent back to Rockford (AHL), it seems like a lock that Shaw will return.
Shaw skated on Sunday morning and wanted to play, but head coach Joel Quenneville will hold him out of a third straight game. Look for Shaw to return on Wednesday vs. Colorado.
Shaw will miss his second straight game with an upper body injury. The injury is not believed to be serious, but he will miss another game and that allows the recently recalled Phillip Danault to make his NHL debut.
Shaw's injury is not considered serious, he might only miss tonight and be back on Saturday vs. the Oilers. He is day-to-day.
The trio of Shaw, Saad and Kane played together in the Western Conference Final, but were broken up to start training camp when Brad Richards arrived. However, Shaw was back between the two skilled wingers in the final preseason game and will be there for the season opener on Thursday in Dallas.
Shaw missed the previous seven games, but will be back in the lineup tonight in Los Angeles. Peter Regin is expected to be a healthy scratch to make room for Shaw, who will center the Hawks' third line with Brandon Saad and Kris Versteeg.
Shaw will be out for the seventh consecutive game; he says it’s the most time he’s missed in his entire hockey career. The good news is, Shaw said he’s feeling no pain with his injury. The stops/starts and quick on-ice movements aren’t affecting him either. He is targeting a return for game 3.
Shaw is participating again this morning, but is not taking line rushes on any of the top four lines which is not a good sign for his availability for game 2 on Wednesday. Shaw has not played since game 1 of the second round series vs. the Wild. Monitor his status during tomorrow's morning skate prior to game 2.
Shaw skated for the first time since sustaining a right-leg injury against the Minnesota Wild in Game 1 of the second-round series. Asked if Shaw could return sooner rather than later, coach Joel Quenneville said, “it’ll be sooner, but he’s not playing (on Sunday).”
Shaw is expected to start skating in the next couple of days, which is a good sign that he could be ready for the early stages of the Western Conference Finals, should the Blackhawks get by the Wild.
Shaw has yet to resume skating after suffering a right leg injury in game 1. Not being on the ice suggests that he is not close to returning and we shouldn't expect to see him in game 5.
Shaw will miss his third straight game with a lower-body injury that he suffered in game 1.
