This is terrible news for Shaw, who has a long history of concussion issues. This could keep Shaw sidelined long-term and opens the door for Lucas Wallmark to be back in on Thursday.
Shaw has been out since November 30th and will miss the final 18 games of the season with lingering concussion issues. Missing such a lengthy period of time with a concussion is obviously not a good sign and hopefully, Shaw will be ready to return to the NHL at the start of the 2021 campaign.
Shaw is out indefinitely with a concussion so his move to LTIR opens up a roster spot and gives the Blackhawks some cap relief to call-up Adam Boqvist and Matthew Highmore.
Shaw is set to miss his third straight game with a concussion on Friday. Shaw's move to IR is retroactive to November 30th, so he's eligible to be activated whenever he is back to 100 percent.
The Blackhawks were extremely vague when they released Shaw's update, simply stating that he will not play vs. St. Louis and is undergoing further evaluation. Shaw's injury puts Chicago in a very difficult spot as they will have to play short a forward tonight with Dylan Strome still out and not enough cap-space to call-up a forward from Rockford (AHL).
Shaw is entering the fourth-year of a six-year contract that carries a $3.9M cap-hit. Shaw struggled in his first two seasons in Montreal but is coming off of a career-best 47 points (19G / 28A) in 63 games in the 2018-19 season. Shaw spent the first four and a half seasons of his career with Chicago, where he won two Stanley Cups.
Shaw has been dealing with an upper-body injury and left Monday’s game in Dallas after playing just 2:09 TOI. Joel Armia is expected to replace Shaw in the lineup on Thursday.
The Canadiens want to get Charles Hudon back in the lineup on Saturday, so Andrew Shaw will take a seat against the Bruins.
Shaw missed Monday’s morning skate and will not be in the lineup when the Canadiens host the Red Wings tonight. Matthew Peca will be Shaw’s replacement on the fourth line and Charles Hudon will take his spot on the second power-play unit.
Carey Price missed Saturday’s game with the flu and now it looks like it has affected Shaw. With the bottom-6 agitator likely out of the lineup, look for Matthew Peca to draw in against Detroit.
Shaw was expected to miss the first couple of weeks of the 2018-19 season, but told reporters that he is ready to play in the Canadiens season opener on Wednesday. There’s no indication where Shaw will slot into the Canadiens’ lineup, but he doesn’t come with any fantasy upside.
Shaw has 19 points (10G/9A) in 43 games this season. He has been out since January 13th with a lower-body injury and has yet to return to practice. It seems unlikely he will return before the end of the Habs' four-game road trip.
Shaw missed practice on Sunday and will miss at least 7-10 days with a lower-body injury. It sounds like he could be sidelined for longer and the Canadiens have claimed Logan Shaw from Anaheim to take his roster spot for the time being.
There is no word on what is ailing Shaw, who finished Tuesday’s game vs. the Golden Knights. Shaw missed Wednesday’s practice and the Canadiens said that there is a 50/50 chance that he will play vs. the Wild.
Shaw missed Wednesday’s practice, but will be in the lineup tonight vs. the Wild. Shaw has registered just four assists with 29 shots on goal in 12 games so far in 2017-18.
Shaw was held off of the ice for Wednesday’s practice because of flu-like symptoms, but he will accompany the team to Minnesota for Thursday’s meeting with the Wild. Shaw allowed four assists in 12 games this season.
Shaw has missed the last eight games with a concussion and will miss No.9 on Tuesday as he stays back in Montreal while the team travels to Nashville. He’s obviously expected to miss a 10th straight game on Wednesday as well.
