Vermette was a healthy scratch on Sunday, but will likely be back in the lineup tonight in Detroit. Vermette, who has just 16 points (8G / 8A) in 55 games this season, was a healthy scratch in two of the last three games.
Vermette has been suspended for 10 games because of his slash on a linesman last night. Vermette took a chop at a linesman after a face-off and is not eligible to play until March 12th vs. the Capitals. Expect Jared Boll to be back in the lineup on Friday, unless the Ducks make a call-up.
Vermette, 34, was bought out by the Coyotes a few weeks ago but has caught on with the Ducks for the next two seasons. Vermette is a solid two-way centre, who had 38 points (17G / 21A) in 76 games with Arizona. He will likely skate on the Ducks’ third line throughout the 2016-17 season.
Vermette has missed the last three games with a lower-body injury, but he took part i the gameday skate and is officially listed as a game-time decision for tonight’s contest in Los Angeles. Monitor his status in pre-game warmups.
Vermette will miss his second straight game and it will be the fifth game he’s missed in the last six. This lower-body injury continues to nag Vermette, so monitor his status heading into next week.

Vermette left halfway through Thursday’s game and is listed as day-to-day. Head coach Dave Tippett doesn’t think the injury is “too serious” so there’s a chance that he could be in the lineup on Saturday vs. Boston.
Vermette, 32, is a pending unrestricted free agent, so this is a steep price to pay for a rental. The Patrick Kane injury really forced the Blackhawks hand though. Vermette has scored 13 goals with 22 assists (35 points) in 63 games with Arizona. He is a very effective two-way forward and is excellent in the face-off circle—Vermette currently sits eighth in the NHL in face-off percentage at 56.0%.
