Since returning from his ankle injury he has taken the reigns as the Carolina starter. He will get his second start in as many nights when they take on the Predators tonight. It is a great matchup and he makes for a strong Sunday start.

He will face a surging Islanders team who have won four of their last five, beating Detroit, Minnesota, Boston and Chicago. It won't be an easy game but Khudobin looked great two days ago.

Khudobin has been out of the lineup since October 13. Khudobin will be the third goalie on the trip as Justin Peters and Cam Ward will also travel. If Khudobin is healthy enough to dress, they may send Peters back to the AHL despite his strong play.
Khudobin has missed the last 12 games and is probably over a week away from returning. When he is healthy he will return to the backup role behind Cam Ward who is also near a return.
