Antti Raanta News
Raanta will start Saturday vs. the Senators.

Raanta allowed three goals on 32 shots in the Coyotes overtime loss in Colorado last Saturday. Darcy Kuemper is playing very well right now, so Raanta will need a strong outing vs. a weak Senators team to remain in-line for a large workload. Since landing with the Coyotes, Raanta is 14-15-4 with a .929 SV% at Gila River Arena. He is a must-start this evening.

Raanta will start Saturday in Colorado.

Raanta will make his season debut after recovering from a lower-body injury. A knee injury limited the 30-year-old netminder to 12 games last season. He posted a 5-6-0 record with a .906 SV% and a 2.88 GAA. It will be interesting to see which Raanta we see now that he's finally healthy. He's posted a remarkable .920 SV% across his six-year career, but he draws a tough matchup tonight against the Avalanche.

Raanta remains day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

Raanta has dealt with injuries in his first two seasons with the Coyotes and was limited to just 12 starts in 2019. So this is far from the ideal start to the 2020 season for Raanta. If he is unable to go in their season opener, the Coyotes will turn to Darcy Kuemper, who went 27-20-8 with a 2.33 GAA and .925 SV% last season while filling in for Raanta.

The Coyotes have placed Antti Raanta (lower-body) on IR.

Raanta has been out since November 27th and was moved to IR on Thursday night, suggesting that he will miss some more time. Adin Hill’s strong play likely made this decision a little easier for the Coyotes and is a goaltender worth monitoring on the waiver wire right now.

Raanta has missed the last two games with a lower-body injury but could be back between the pipes on Tuesday. With Adin Hill performing extremely well in Raanta’s absence, the Coyotes will likely elect to stick with the hot hand and give Raanta an extra couple of days.

Raanta (lower-body) is questionable for Thursday’s game in Nashville.

Raanta was forced to leave Tuesday’s game in Minnesota with a lower-body injury. Raanta stopped 17 of 20 shots before not returning for the third period. Adin Hill took over for him and is likely to start on Thursday if Raanta is unavailable. Head coach Rick Tocchet said that Raanta was being re-evaluated on Wednesday.
