There are a few teams you don’t spot start against, the Capitals are one for them.

Raanta allowed two goals on 33 shots in the Rangers loss to the Flyers last Saturday. Raanta has gone 4-1-0 with a 1.36 GAA and .952 SV% in five games this season. Raanta has played well in his first season with New York and draws a great matchup tonight with the Avalanche in town.

He has won each of his four starts while posting a 1.20 GAA and .955 SV%. He makes for a great spot-start this afternoon with the NHL’s worst offence in town.

Raanta stopped 22 of 23 shots in the Rangers win over the Flames on October 25th. Raanta has only given up one goal on 45 shots (.978 SV%) this season. He has been great in relief of Henrik Lundqvist this season and makes for a strong spot-start in Arizona.

The Blackhawks reassigned Antti Raanta to Rockford (AHL).

Raanta has posted a 1.89 GAA and .936 SV% in 14 games this season. He is coming off of a relief appearance where he allowed two goals on 16 shots in Sunday’s loss to the Bruins. His demotion is certainly a surprising one, considering that Rockford is off until Friday, so he isn’t going down to get playing time this week.
