Katchouk is expected to make his Senators’ debut on Saturday.

Katchouk was placed on waivers Thursday by Chicago and claimed on Friday by Ottawa and is expected to make his debut on Saturday vs. San Jose. The 25-year-old is in his fourth NHL season and had five goals, nine points, 52 SOG, and 12 PIMs in 38 games played with Chicago before being claimed.

Katchouk had two goals, two assists, 23 SOG, and four PIMs in 17 games with Chicago this season but will report to Rockford (AHL) after clearing waivers Tuesday. The 25-year-old left-winger will return to the AHL for the first time since 2021-22 when he played three games for the Syracuse Crunch (AHL).

Katchouk will be the odd man out of the Blackhawks' lineup on Tuesday vs. Arizona as Andreas Athanasiou draws back in. The 25-year-old has done little offensively this season as he has no goals, an assist, seven SOG, two PIMs and a +1 plus/minus in eight games played.

Katchouk was activated from the injured reserve Friday after missing the start of the season due to a left ankle sprain. in 59 career NHL games, the 24-year-old has three goals and seven points while earing a -7 plus/minus rating.

Katchouk suffered the injury in Saturday's preseason game vs. the Red Wings and is expected to be sidelined until early-to-mid November. Katchouk was expected to fill a bottom-6 spot to open the season but expect Jujhar Khaira to fill that role now.
