Martin made his NHL debut in Nashville's season-opener, playing consecutive games and recording one point (0G / 1A). The 18-year-old proceeded to be a healthy scratch in four straight before drawing back into the lineup for his third career game on Tuesday. He was the fifth-overall pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft and will report back to the Soo Saint Marie Greyhounds (OHL).

He returns to the lineup on Tuesday against the Anaheim Ducks, likely suiting up on a line alongside Fedor Svechkov and Tyson Jost.

For the first time in his young NHL career, Martin will be a healthy scratch, allowing Joakim Kemell to enter the lineup on Monday against the Ottawa Senators. The 18-year-old Martin played his second career game and tallied his first point, an assist, in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Utah Mammoth.

Martin was the 5th overall selection in this year's NHL Entry Draft and signed a three-year, entry-level contract with Nashville on Wednesday. The 18-year-old center saw his draft stock skyrocket in 2024-25 after an impressive 33-goal, 72-point campaign with the Soo Greyhounds (OHL). He will compete for a spot on Nashville's roster to start the 2025-26 season, but is expected to return to the Soo for the majority of the season.
