Brandon Prust News
Prust is questionable for Monday with a knee injury.

Prust suffered a knee injury in a collision with Ryan Kesler in Friday’s win over the Ducks. Prust has dealt with ankle injuries earlier in the year and now it looks like he may miss time with a banged up knee. With Prust likely out, Jared McCann is expected to be back in the lineup.

Prust (upper-body) is questionable for Game 1 on Wednesday.

Prust missed the final 12 games of the regular season. He was in practice on Tuesday skating on the second line with Tomas Plekanec and Brandon Gallagher. The 30-year-old is the type of player you need on your roster in the playoffs, but he has just four points in 28 career playoff games.

Prust will miss the rest of the regular season with an upper-body injury.

After playing all 82 games in both seasons with the Rangers prior to coming to Montreal, Prust has missed 40 of the 130 (31%) of regular season games with the Habs in the last two seasons. He finished this season the 13 points (6G / 7A) in 52 games. The Canadiens have him signed through the next two seasons at $2.5 million per year, so they would like to start seeing some durability out of the big forward.

Prust (upper-body) returns to the Habs lineup Wednesday.

Prust has missed the last seven games with an upper-body injury that he suffered in mid-February. He will get back in the lineup with Rene Bourque taking a seat as a healthy scratch. Prust has accumulated 11 points (5G / 6A) and 105 penalty minutes in 48 games this season. He will skate on the Habs fourth line with Ryan White and Travis Moen.

Prust (shoulder) is not expected to dress on Friday but will suit up on Saturday vs. the Rangers.

Prust has returned a week earlier than expected after injuring his shoulder on October 19. He brings some physicality to the Habs lineup, which is something they lack. Prust had two goals and one assist in eight games.

Prust (shoulder) will play a least one game this weekend.

Prust has been out of the Canadiens lineup since October 19 and has missed the last 11 games. He will bring more physicality and grit to the Habs lineup. Prust had two goals and one assist in eight games before getting hurt. He will play in either Friday's game at Columbus or Saturday when the Candiens host the Rangers.

Prust (shoulder) skated before the team for the first time since being sidelined.

Prust's original timetable had him returning in late November, but a skate on November 4 is a positive sign he is on track to be back sooner. Prust has missed the Habs last seven games, we know he will be nearing a return when he skates with the team.
