MacLean struggled to earn offensive minutes with the Coyotes and the Jets this season, playing in only five games. The jury is out on whether his scoring talents will translate to the NHL level.

MacLean failed to fit in with Winnipeg and now Phoenix. The natural goal scorer produced only two assists through five games with the Jets, earning a demotion.

Even though MacLean draws in, he does not figure to start the game on a scoring line. Look for someone like Kyle Wellwood to fill in on a scoring line.

A pure goal scorer, MacLean continues to struggle with scoring at the NHL level. Over 15 career games, he only has two tallies with none coming as a member of the Jets.

The former 61-goal scorer in the OHL still has not made an impact on the NHL level. Perhaps the tides turn paired with the veteran Wellwood and dynamic rookie Scheifele.

As a former 61-goal scorer in the OHL, MacLean did not last on waivers. Interesting to see how the Jets chose to use him moving forward.
