Brett Sutter has announced his retirement after seven NHL seasons and 17 AHL seasons.

After seven NHL seasons and 17 AHL seasons, Brett Sutter has announced his retirement from professional hockey. Sutter was well known for being the son of former NHL Darryl Sutter and made a large impact in the AHL ending his career with the fourth most games played all-time (1090) in league history. The 37-year-old last played in the NHL with Minnesota in 2014-15 and had two goals and 10 points in 60 career NHL games played across seven seasons.

The Wild recalled Brett Sutter from Iowa (AHL).

Sutter, 27, has three assists in five games with the Wild this season. In Iowa he has collected seven goals and 11 assists (18 points) in 45 games. Sutter is expected to be in the lineup tonight with Ryan Carter and Jason Zucker out.

The Hurricanes recall Brett Sutter from Charlotte (AHL).

Sutter, 26, averaged 6:56 of ice time per game in 12 games for the Hurricanes this season before he was assigned to Charlotte on November 4. Since joining the Checkers he has scored two goals and earned 12 assists (14 points) in 22 games.

Sutter has 13 goals and 20 assists in 52 games in the AHL this season. He likely won't stay up with the Hurricanes when LaRose returns so he won't be fantasy relevant.

Sutter registered three assists in 15 games while playing on the fourth line. He has no fantasy hockey value.
