Anaheim has acquired Brian Dumoulin from Seattle for a 2026 4th-round pick.

Seattle managed to clear up some defensive room on Tuesday by trading away Brian Dumoulin to Anaheim for a 2026 4th-round pick. The 32-year-old is entering his 12th NHL season and has 626 games played in his career. In 2023-24 he had six goals, 16 points and 20 PIMs in 80 games played.

Dumoulin picked up a lower-body injury early in Monday's game in New Jersey and did not play Tuesday against the Islanders. Justin Schultz returned from absence due to personal matters and replaced Dumoulin on the third defensive pair.

The 31-year-old defenseman has spent his entire 10-year NHL career in Pittsburgh; picking up 19 goals, 120 assists, and a +93 plus/minus through 546 games played.

Dumoulin (ankle) will return to the Penguins lineup on Tuesday.

Dumoulin will play for the first time since November 30th after undergoing surgery to repair lacerated tendons in his left ankle. Dumoulin has picked up seven points (1G / 6A) while averaging 1.2 blocked shots and 17 hits per game in 23 games this season.
