The Devils have placed Brian O'Neill on waivers.
O’Neill was a healthy scratch in the last two games and was placed on waivers on Wednesday, likely to create a roster spot to activate Travis Zajac from IR.

O’Neill sat as a healthy scratch on Sunday but will get back into the lineup on Tuesday vs. Arizona. O’Neill has just one shot on goal while averaging 8:13 TOI through three games with New Jersey.
Trade
The Kings have traded Brian O’Neill to the Devils in exchange for a 2017 seventh round pick.
O’Neill, 27, nearly made the Kings roster out of training camp, but has been dealt to the Devils, where he is expected to be a part of their 23-man roster. The 5-foot-8, 165 lbs. winger had 22 goals and 58 assists (80 points) in 71 games with Manchester (AHL) last season.
Signing
The New Haven Register reported this morning — item here — that college prospect Brian O’Neill has signed a free-agent contract with the Kings and will report to the Manchester Monarchs for the rest of this season.
O’Neill scored 21 goals and 46 points in 35 games as the captain of the Yale Bulldogs. He will begin his pro career in the AHL.
