Bickell, 30, has one goal in seven games this season, but multiple sclerosis will make it very difficult for Bickell to return to the ice. Josh Harding was able to deal with it in Minnesota for one season, but is out of professional hockey all together now. Don’t expect to see Bickell on the ice anytime in the near future.

With his activation from IR the Blackhawks have returned Jeremy Morin to the AHL. Bickell will likely make up one of the NHL's best third lines with Andrew Shaw and Brandon Saad.

Bickell has missed the last 12 games with a lower-body injury that he suffered in the first period of a game vs. Colorado on November 19. He has not been the offensive force that he was in last year's playoffs (5G /1A in 22 games) but his physical presence will be a welcomed addition to the Blackhawks lineup.
