The Flyers finished their pre-Christmas schedule on Friday, so they have sent a couple of players back to the AHL. With Carter Hart back healthy, Petersen will likely remain in the AHL once the schedule resumes next week. Petersen has gone 4-6-1 with a 3.20 GAA and .898 SV% in 11 games with Lehigh Valley this season.

Petersen has been called up again from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the AHL, a semi-regular occurrence over the last month as Carter Hart has battled several injuries and is currently not able to play due to an illness. Petersen has a 3.50 GAA and .896 SV% in two games with the Flyers this season (1-1-0) and will serve as the backup to Samuel Ersson on Thursday.

Petersen has a 4-6-1 record, .898 SV% and 3.20 GAA in 11 games with Lehigh Valley (AHL) this season and has been recalled to Philadelphia for a second time this season. The 29-year-old veteran of six years struggled in his previous call up, with his 1-1-0 record, .896 SV% and 3.50 GAA and will back up Samuel Ersson Tuesday while Carter Hart (illness) continues to recover.

Petersen recorded his first victory in nearly a calendar year, saving 35 of 37 shots (.946 SV%) in a 4-2 victory over his former team, the Los Angeles Kings. Petersen being loaned to Lehigh Valley (AHL) is a likely sign that Carter Hart is on the verge of returning to the Flyers lineup.

With Carter Hart suffering a mid-body injury in Wednesday's game, Petersen earns the call-up where he'll likely split the Flyers' Friday/Saturday back-to-back with Samuel Ersson. Petersen, who was acquired from the Kings in the offseason, has got 1-3-0 with a 3.76 GAA and .884 SV% in four AHL games this season.

Petersen has been traded to Philadelphia in a three-team, five player, three draft-pick trade that also involved the Columbus Blue Jackets. He has 101career NHL games played under his belt across five professional seasons.

The 28-year-old holds a 5-2-1 record on the season even though he is posting a horrific 3.49 GAA and .880 SV%. He takes on the New York Rangers who rank fifth in the NHL in shots per game (34.6) but 20th in goals per game (2.95).

The 28-year-old has been terrible this season, posting a .867 SV% and 4.06 GAA to go along with his 4-2-0 record. He takes on the high-scoring Edmonton Oilers who rank fourth in the NHL with 3.69 goals per game.
