Driedger had two outstanding seasons with the Panthers in 2020 and 2021 before being claimed by Seattle in the expansion draft. While with the Panthers, he was 21-8-4 with a 2.07 GAA and .931 SV% across two seasons. However, he had a 2.93 GAA and .900 SV% in 29 games (26 starts) with the Kraken and played in just two NHL games during the 2024 season. With Anthony Stoalrz now in Toronto, Driedger will battle with Spencer Knight for the role of Sergei Bobrovsky's backup in 2025.

With Philipp Grubauer (lower body) being activated off the Injured Reserve Tuesday, Chris Driedger has been reassigned to Coachella Valley (AHL) after appearing in two games for Seattle. The 29-year-old made his first NHL appearance since 2021-22 this season after overcoming multiple injuries and posted a 1-1-0 record, 2.51 GAA and a .917 SV%.

On the back end of a back-to-back, Seattle will turn to Driedger between the pipes for his second start this season. Driedger did not appear in any games for the Kraken as he backed up Joey Daccord during Philipp Grubauer's injury absence and will head back to Coachella Valley (AHL) Saturday. The 29-year-old returns to the Firebirds, where he has a 6-4-0 record, 2.20 GAA and .915 SV%.

With Philipp Grubauer (undisclosed) out day-to-day, Chris Driedger has been recalled from Coachella Valley (AHL) for the first time since 2021-22. The 29-year-old has enjoyed a successful start to the season in the AHL, with his 6-4-0 record, 2.61 GAA and .908 SV%. He returns to the NHL, where he has a 30-23-5 record with his .917 SV% and 2.45 GAA.

Driedger was 9-4-0 with a 2.61 GAA and .908 SV% with the Coachella Valley Firebirds (AHL) and has been recalled to Seattle to be their third goalie for the playoffs. The 28-year-old did not see any NHL action with the Kraken this season but has 65 career NHL games experience between Seattle, Florida and Ottawa.
