Giroux (illness) is on the ice for warmups and is expected to play against the Blues on Thursday.

Giroux is battling an illness and his status is up in the air for Thursday's contest against the St. Louis Blues. Despite the Senators' struggles this season, the 36-year-old Giroux has enjoyed another productive campaign, scoring 57 points (19G / 38A) in 67 games.

Giroux (management decision) did not travel to Ottawa for Friday's game.

With Giroux expected to be traded before Monday's trade deadline, Giroux will sit out Friday and most likely Sunday vs. the Islanders as well. Giroux played his 1,000th career NHL game last night, firing two shots and picking up two PIMS in 17:47 TOI. At this point, the Panthers and Avalanche appear to be the front runners to land the 34-year-old.

Giroux (COVID-19) will not play Thursday vs. New York.

The Flyers will return to the ice for the first time in 10 days after a COVID-19 outbreak but will do so without six regulars. Giroux, Jakub Voracek, Travis Konecny, Justin Braun, Oskar Lindblom and Scott Laughton will all miss Tuesday's game against the Rangers.

Giroux skated at left wing during Tuesday’s practice.

This summer the Flyers drafted Nolan Patrick at No.2 overall, creating a logjam down the middle in Philadelphia. With Nolan expected to make the roster out of training camp, the Flyers gave Giroux a look on the left side of Sean Couturier with Jakub Voracek on the wing. Couturier and Patrick would likely serve as the No.1 and No.2 centres with the likes of Valtteri Filppula and Jori Lehtera likely being the No.3 and No.4 pivots. The centre depth will allow the Flyers to get creative and putting Giroux on the wing with Couturier and Voracek could give them a dominant first line without sacrificing depth. It’s only been one day of practice, but Giroux would definitely see an uptick in fantasy value if he were to gain dual position eligibility (C/LW).

Giroux (upper-body) missed Monday's practice; doubtful for Tuesday.

Giroux missed Saturday’s game in Toronto and his absence from this morning’s practice suggests that Giroux will miss a second straight game on Tuesday. Thankfully for the Flyers, it looks like Sean Couturier will return to the lineup, which should ease the loss of Giroux.
