Clayton Stoner News
The Ducks have placed Clayton Stoner on waivers.

Stoner has two seasons left on his contract that carries a $3.25M cap-hit. Waiving Stoner means that Shea Theodore may have earned himself a spot on the Ducks’ opening night roster or that they feel Josh Manson or Korbinian Holzer are just as good of options as Stoner for a significantly lesser cap-hit.

The Anaheim Ducks have signed Clayton Stoner to a four-year deal worth $13 million.

Stoner, 29, is not know for what he does in the offensive zone, but he managed to tally three points (1G / 2A) in 13 postseason games with the Wild last season. He is a big-boy at 6-foot-4, 213 lbs. and should slide right onto the Ducks third pairing after they traded Luca Sbisa and lost Stephane Robidas in free agency.

Stoner (lower-body) will miss a couple of weeks.

Stoner was injured in Saturday's loss to the Red Wings and will miss at least a few weeks with what is believed to be a knee injury. The Wild's blueline is starting to get thin, having lost Stoner and Keith Ballard in the last week. As reported earlier, Jon Blum was recalled and will fill-in for Stoner.

Stoner (undisclosed) did not make the trip to Detroit.

Stoner missed the tail-end of the third period in Saturday's loss to the Red Wings. He did travel with the team for the second game of the home-and-home, so the Wild recalled Jon Blum, who will slide into the lineup for Stoner.

Stoner (lower-body) will not play tonight.

Stoner will be replaced by Nate Prosser, who has not played in the last 14 games. Stoner was injured in last night's game vs. the Rangers. With the Christmas break on the horizon the Wild will let the banged up Stoner rest.
