The Golden Knights have run into some cap issues and Miller is the second player to fall victim to that this week. Miller isn’t the best in his own-end but provides a lot in the offensive-zone and possesses a massive point-shot that is a weapon on the power-play. Miller had three goals and 26 assists (29 points) in 65 games last season, but had a 10-goal, 41-point campaign in 2017-18. Miller has three years left on his deal and joins a blueline that already has offensive-minded defensemen in Rasmus Dahlin, Rasmus Ristolainen and Brandon Montour.

Holden was a minus-2 in 13:34 TOI in Game 1 and will be replaced by Colin Miller, who was a healthy scratch in that contest.

Miller played just 13:41 TOI on Monday and has just two assists in his last 10 games. Miller skated as an extra in Wednesday’s morning skate, so look for Nick Holden to replace him on the third pair.

Miller has missed the last 13 games but is expected to play Saturday vs. the Penguins. Miller has had a solid season on the Golden Knights’ blue line, picking up two goals and 15 assists (17 points) in 36 games.

Miller is set to miss his fifth straight games with an undisclosed injury and was moved to IR so the Golden Knights could claim Valentin Zykov off of waivers.

Miller was banged up in Columbus on Monday and is expected to miss Thursday’s game vs. the Islanders. Look for Miller to be replaced by Brad Hunt.

Miller had an outstanding 2018 season finishing tied for 23rd among defensemen in goals (10), tied for 25th in assists (31) and tied for 27th in points (41). Miller, who gets sheltered offensive-zone starts, finished the season with a 56.3 CF% and +7.3 relative Corsi. This contract looks like an absolute steal for the Golden Knights.

Miller has taken some big strides this season, but has not recorded a point in his last eight games and played just 11:50 TOI on Saturday. Miller will be replaced by J-M Liles.
