Toronto and Connor Dewar have settled after arbitration on a one-year, $1.18 million contract on Tuesday. The 25-year-old forward was acquired by the Maple Leafs' at last year's trade deadline from Minnesota and had 11 goals, 19 points, 28 PIMs and 77 SOG in 74 games between the Maple Leafs and Wild.
Dewar has picked up one assist in three games to open the series but will come out of the lineup with William Nylander expected to make his series debut. Nicholas Robertson will move down to the fourth line to replace Dewar next to David Kampf and Ryan Reaves.
Noah Gregor will be a healthy scratch on Thursday, allowing Dewar to draw back into the lineup. The 24-year-old has failed to produce offence since joining the Maple Leafs before the trade deadline, with a goal, two points, 16 SOG, and eight PIMs.
Dewar will be a healthy scratch on Tuesday in New Jersey for the first time since being traded to Toronto at the Trade Deadline in March. The 24-year-old has failed to produce offence early on with the Maple Leafs, with a goal, two points, 16 SOG, and eight PIMs.
The Maple Leafs acquired additional depth for their bottom-six forward group by acquiring Dewar before the trade deadline. The 24-year-old Dewar is an impending restricted free agent and has 14 points (10G / 4A) in 57 games this season.
Dewar has missed the last six games with a lower-body injury but seems poised to play Monday in Vegas. Dewar, who would replace Marcus Foligno (lower-body) in the lineup, skated on the fourth line with Jake Lucchini and Vinni Lettieri in Sunday's practice session. He has seven goals and two assists (nine points) in 45 games this season.

With Jordan Greenway returning from an upper-body injury, Dewar will be the one to sit to make room for him. Dewar had become a regular in the Wild lineup, posting five points (2G / 3A) in 27 games.
Dewar has scored two goals with two assists (four points) in four AHL games this season. Dewar was one of three players called up because Mats Zuccarello and Rem Pitlick were placed on the COVID-19 reserve list. If he plays on Thursday, it would be his NHL debut.
