The Flames have recalled Corey Potter from Adirondack (AHL).

Potter, 31, has 10 assists in 25 games with Adirondack. He swaps places with Tyler Wotherspoon, who did not get into a game during his recall, so Potter’s chance to make his Flames debut seem slim right now.

The Bruins have claimed Corey Potter off of waivers from Edmonton.

The injuries on the blueline to Dennis Seidenberg and Adam McQuaid had the Bruins rather thin on the back-end, the claim of Potter provides a little extra blueline depth. Potter is 6-foot-3, 206 lbs. and plays a big physical game in his own end, but can also provide offence from time-to-time.

Potter (groin) has resumed practicing with the Oilers.

Potter has missed the last six games with a groin injury that he suffered on December 27. With Brad Hunt being assigned to the AHL, there is a good chance that Potter will be activated from IR. He has three assists, a minus-1 rating and 21 PIMs in 12 games.

Potter faced supplementary discipline for his hit on Ducks forward Nick Bonino on Sunday.

Potter has been in and out of the Oilers lineup throughout the season so his loss would not leave too big of a hole on the blueline. He has skated in nine games recording three assists.

Potter will make his season debut tonight.

Potter missed all of the Oilers training camp with a back injury, travelled to Oklahoma City for a two game conditioning stint with the Barons earlier this month, returned to Edmonton for a few practices then found himself on waivers. After he had cleared, he reported to the Barons again, where he found his footing through the course of five AHL games. He was recalled on Tuesday and will play tonight against the Dallas Stars, alongside Nick Schultz. He figures to be a healthy scratch once Justin Schultz (groin) returns.
