Chicago continued to add experience to its core on Monday as it signed 34-year-old Craig Smith to a one-year, $1 million contract. The veteran winger is entering his 14th NHL season and had 11 goals, 20 points, 33 PIMs and a +2 plus/minus in 75 games played with Dallas in 2023-24.

Smith has appeared in 14 of 16 playoff games for Dallas this offseason but will take a seat on Wednesday as Radek Faksa takes his place in the lineup for Game 4. The 34-year-old veteran has yet to find the back of the net in 14 playoff games played, but has two assists, 14 SOG and two PIMs.

With Tyler Seguin (rest) returning to the lineup, Smith will be the odd man out in game one against the Vegas Golden Knights. The 35-year-old Smith scored 20 points (11G / 9A) in 75 games with the Stars this season while averaging a career-low 10:13 of ice time.

Smith will be the odd-man out on Friday as the Stars are opting to dress seven defensemen. Nils Lundkvist will draw into the lineup in Smith's place.

Smith has played in all but four games for Dallas in 2023-24 but will head to the press box as a healthy scratch Wednesday as he is replaced by Ty Dellandrea vs. Toronto. The 34-year-old has been a solid offensive contributor on Dallas' fourth line this season with four goals, 10 points, 73 SOG, 23 PIMs and a +4 plus/minus in 46 games.

Smith will retake his place on the Stars' fourth line as Ty Dellandrea will sit. Smith has five goals and three assists in 43 games this season.

Smith will re-enter the lineup for the Stars after not playing on Saturday, as Radek Faksa will be a healthy scratch on Monday against the Seattle Kraken. Smith has three points (2G / 1A) in 26 games but still has 41 shots on goals while playing a career-low 10:34 time-on-ice in exclusively a fourth-line role.

Smith was a healthy scratch for the Stars' previous two games but will draw back into the lineup Tuesday as he takes Ty Dellandrea's spot on Dallas' fourth line. The 34-year-old veteran is in his 13th NHL season and has two goals, an assist, 15 PIMs and 28 SOG in 17 games played this year.

Smith had nine goals, seven assists, 104 SOG, 18 PIMs and a +5 plus/minus through 64 games with both Boston and Washington in 2022-23 and has signed a one-year deal worth $1,000,000 with Dallas. The 33-year-old centre will be joining his fourth NHL team and has 200 goals, 414 points, 328 PIMs and a +95 plus/minus across 853 career games played.

Smith has six goals, six assists, 76 SOG, 18 PIMs and a +5 plus/minus through 56 games with both Washington and Boston this season but is now considered day-to-day as he deals with a lower-body injury. The 33-year-old left the Capitals' previous game vs. Pittsburgh after just 4:54 TOI.

Smith was a healthy scratch for the Bruins' previous game but will draw back into the lineup on the fourth line Tuesday. Smith has a goal, three assists, 24 SOG and six PIMs through 19 games while playing a bottom-six role this season.

Smith cleared waivers and was sent to Providence (AHL) earlier this week but will surprisingly be recalled Wednesday back to Boston. The 33-year-old had a goal, three assists, and six PIMs in 18 games prior to his demotion and should draw back into the Bruins' lineup soon.
