The Senators have acquired Darren Archibald and Anders Nilsson from the Canucks for Mike McKenna, Tom Pyatt and a 2019 sixth-round pick.

Archibald has spent most of the season with Utica (AHL), where he has 11 goals and five assists (16 points) in 23 games. The 28-year-old forward, who stands at 6-foot-3, 210 lbs., Archibald has 14 points (6G / 8A) in 52 career NHL games.

The Canucks have recalled Darren Archibald from Utica (AHL).

Archibald recorded a goal in his only game with the Canucks this season, building off of the six points (4G / 2A) in eight AHL games to begin the year. Archibald and Brendan Gaunce have been recalled after the Canucks announced that Chris Tanev was moved to IR and Brandon Sutter will miss at least one month.

The Canucks have re-signed Darren Archibald to a one-year, two-way extension.

Archibald split his 2018 season between the AHL and NHL. He collected 16 points (7G / 9A) in 25 games with Utica (AHL) and nine points (4G / 5A) in 26 games with Vancouver (NHL). Archibald has a power-forwards body (6-foot-3, 210 lbs.) and was the Canucks’ leader in hits/game during brief time with them. He’ll battle for a roster spot this fall, but could start the year in Utica again.

Archibald has two assists in eight career NHL games, all of which have come this season with Vancouver. In the AHL he has 13 points (6G / 7A) in 24 games. Canucks head coach John Tortorella says that Archibald will be in the lineup tonight, but did not say who is coming out.
