Simon was acquired from the Penguins as a part of the Rickard Rakell trade on Monday and will jump right into the Ducks lineup on Wednesday. It's unclear where he will slot into the Ducks' lineup but he may replace Troy Terry, who is questionable due to an undisclosed injury.
Simon was one of five players added to the protocol list on Monday, bringing the Penguins total to six. This group will likely miss at least the next two games.
Sam Bennett recently requested a trade, so he'll come out of the lineup on Thursday with Simon replacing him. Simon has not registered a point in his first five games with the Flames.
