Drew Doughty News
Doughty (ankle) has been placed on LTIR.

Doughty was hurt in an awkward play in a preseason game on September 25th and is considered month-to-month after it was announced the 34-year-old had successfully undergone surgery to repair a fractured ankle. He has been a staple on the Kings blueline for more than a decade and his impact will be sorely missed. Over the last two seasons, Doughty averaged nearly 26:00 TOI/GP. In 82 games in 2023-24, he had 15 goals, 50 points, 44 PIMs and a +15 plus/minus. Brandt Clarke is expected to take his spot on the Kings' top powerplay to start the season.

Doughty (lower body) left Wednesday's preseason game and is not practicing on Thursday.

It was reported earlier Thursday that Doughty's initial x-ray showed an ankle fracture but the 34-year-old is scheduled for more additional imaging later in the day after leaving Wednesday's preseason game with an ankle injury. If the defensemen is forced to miss a chunk of time, it will be a significant loss for the Kings as Doughty has played in all but one game in the last two seasons, averaging nearly 26:00 TOI/GP. Doughty underwent wrist surgery on Monday and will miss the rest of the 2022 season.

Doughty has not played since March 7th and underwent wrist surgery on Monday, which will end his 2022 season. This is a huge blow for the Kings, who are currently third in the Pacific Division and trending towards a playoff spot. The Kings announced that Doughty is expected to make a full recovery and be ready for the start of the 2022-23 season.

Doughty (leg) returned to practice on Friday.

Doughty suffered a tibial plateau contusion on October 22nd and is three weeks into an eight-week timetable. Doughty practiced in a non-contact sweater and appears to be ahead of schedule in his recovery. As of now, he remains out indefinitely.

Doughty is expected to miss eight weeks with a tibial plateau contusion.

Doughty was hurt in a knee-on-knee collision in Dallas last Friday and will miss at least two months. The Kings announced on Wednesday that Doughty could be back on the ice in six weeks but likely won't play until late December. With Sean Walker also out, Matt Roy has taken over as the PP1 quarterback for the Kings.

Doughty (upper-body) is day-to-day and questionable to play Thursday.

Doughty was forced to leave Tuesday's game vs. the Sharks after being hit in the chest by a Brent Burns shot. Doughty missed Wednesday's practice and the Kings called him day-to-day. They added that they hope he'll be back on the ice on Thursday, so there seems like a chance that he'll play in the rematch vs. the Sharks.

Doughty (undisclosed) is not expected to play on Wednesday.

Doughty missed Monday's practice and Wednesday's optional morning skate, suggesting he won't be available for tonight's game vs. the Lightning. Derek Forbort is also unlikely to play, so look for Sean Walker and Alec Martinez to play massive minutes for the Kings.

The Kings signed Drew Doughty to an eight-year, $88M ($11M AAV) extension.

Doughty, who will turn 29 in December, is signed through the 2026-27 season. Doughty has played in all 82 games for four straight seasons, ranking eighth among defensemen in points (201) and tied for 16th in goals (43) over that span. Doughty will become the highest-paid blueliner when his extension kicks in.
