A scary incident in Tuesday's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning resulted in Holloway being wheeled off in a stretcher after taking a puck to the throat area. All tests proved negative and thankfully, for Holloway and the Blues, he will return to the lineup on Thursday against the Utah Hockey Club.

He was able to finish his shift but was attended to on the Blues' bench and eventually stretchered to the locker room. Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli reported Holloway was then taken to the hospital for a precautionary scan.

Alongside Philip Broberg, Edmonton has decided to not match the two-year, $4.58 million offer sheet St.Louis presented to Dylan Holloway and will therefore lose the 22-year-old forward for a 2025 3rd-round pick. Holloway was Edmonton's 2020 1st round pick (14th overall) and had six goals, nine points and 29 PIMs in 38 games played in 2023-24.

Holloway is expected to draw back into the Oilers' lineup on Wednesday.

Holloway has not played with the Oilers since March 5th but will rejoin the team after being recalled from the AHL on Tuesday. The 22-year-old Holloway was impressive with the Bakersfield Condors (AHL), scoring 16 points (10G / 6A) in 18 games.

Holloway has struggled to assert himself offensively in the NHL, tallying only four points (3G / 1A) in 32 games with the Oilers this season. With the impending trade deadline approaching, his reassignment to the Bakersfield Condors (AHL) suggests the Oilers could be trying to alleviate cap space ahead to make an acquisition.

Holloway has been out since November 13th due to a lower-body injury but has been activated off the Long-Term Injured Reserve Wednesday and loaned to Bakersfield (AHL) for a conditioning stint. The 22-year-old sophomore got out to a bit of a slump prior to his injury as he had only a goal, no assists, 29 SOG, 13 PIMs and a -3 plus/minus in 14 games played.

Holloway was hoping he was turning his season around after scoring his first point in game 13 of the season but followed that up by suffering an undisclosed injury in the following contest. The Oilers have recalled Adam Erne and Raphael Lavoie as potential substitutes for the 22-year-old Holloway.

Holloway played only 7:23 on Monday before exiting the game with an undisclosed injury and will be out month-to-month according to Oilers. The 22-year-old forward has one point (1G / 0A) in 14 games this season and did not participate in the Oilers' team practice on Tuesday.

Holloway had three goals, six assists, 44 SOG, and 27 PIMs across 51 games played with the Oilers but will head to Bakersfield (AHL) for the first time this season. The 2020 1st round pick (14th overall) will hope to be back with Edmonton soon but had to be sent down with Kailer Yamamoto's return to the lineup.

Head coach Jay Woodcroft has announced that Dylan Halloway will miss another game Monday even though he was back on the ice this morning for practice. Halloway is still searching for his first career NHL point after three games with the Oilers so far in 2022-23.
