Cardwell will be a healthy scratch vs. Minnesota on Tuesday.

With William Eklund (lower body) returning to the Sharks' lineup on Tuesday against the Minnesota Wild, Cardwell will be the odd man out as a healthy scratch. The 23-year-old Cardwell has played four games for the Sharks this season, scoring one goal while averaging 12:21 time-on-ice.

Cardwell has been reassigned to the San Jose Barracuda (AHL).

With Macklin Celebrini and Ty Dellandrea both returning from injuries, the Sharks have assigned Ethan Cardwell and Danil Gushchin to the San Jose Barracuda (AHL). The 22-year-old Cardwell went scoreless in three games with the Sharks and with return to the Barracuda, where he has one goal and four assists through six AHL games.

Cardwell will make his NHL debut on Tuesday against the Kings.

A fourth-round draft pick in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, Cardwell will make his NHL debut on Tuesday night after an impressive start to the season with the San Jose Barracuda (AHL). Cardwell has one goal and four assists through six AHL games. He is expected to skate alongside Nico Sturm and Carl Grundstrom on the Sharks' fourth line.
