Kane did not show up for the Jets game on Tuesday after a run-in with teammates.

It was originally believed that Kane was scratched from the game, but he decided to skip the game. Kane wore a track suit when the Jets players gathered that morning — a violation of team policy. Following a brief workout and stretch, Byfuglien is said to have thrown those clothes into the shower to send a message to his teammate, according to sources. That was the last the Winnipeg players saw of Kane until the team’s charter flight home. This is getting juicy, stay tuned.

Kane will be a healthy scratch tonight.

The Jets do not have an extra forward, so Dustin Byfuglien will move back to forward with Kane out. It is being called a “coach’s decision” so it could be discipline related. Trade speculation will run ramped, but for now, all we know is “coach’s decision”.

Kane, who was placed on IR on Monday, took part in practice on Wednesday for the first time since being injured on December 27th. Kane (leg) should resume skating this weekend.

Kane has been out since the season opener when he suffered a leg injury after playing just 1:24. The Jets announced Thursday that Kane is progressing well and are expecting him to start skating this weekend. The original timetable was "at least two week" and today marks the two-week point. The Jets could definitely use him back in the lineup but he is still at least one week away.

Kane (leg) will miss two weeks.

The Jets originally announced that he will miss at least two games, but now they will reevaluate him in two weeks and see where he is at. Head coach Paul Maurice felt like this was good news considering how serious they thought the injury originally was. Expect Dustin Byfuglien to continue to play a bigger role in Kane's absence.

Kane (leg) will miss the Jets' two weekend games at least.

Kane was injured in his third shift on Thursday night after a collision with linemate Mark Scheifele. Kane underwent an MRI today, but there is no report as to exactly how long he will be out. The fact that they are only ruling him out for two games is an encouraging sign that the injury is not crazy serious, but expect the Jets to release a timetable over the weekend--they likely need to see how his knee responds, before they have a true idea of the severity.
