Fortier had 13 goals and 26 points in 62 games with Syracuse (AHL) in 2023-24 and signed a one-year, two-way contract extension with Tampa Bay on Monday. The 24-year-old winger made his NHL debut in 2021-22 and has appeared in 11 NHL games with one goal to his name.

Fortier had 11 goals, 18 assists, 29 PIMs and a +13 plus/minus through 67 games with the Syracuse Crunch (AHL) in 2022-23 and has signed a one-year, two-way contract ($775,000 AAV) through the 2023-24 season with Tampa Bay. The 23-year-old left-winger was the Lightning's 2018 second round pick (59th overall) and has played in 11 NHL games across two seasons, picking up a goal, four PIMs and a -2 plus/minus since premiering in 2021-22.

Fortier will replace Mathieu Joseph on the Lightning's second line with Anthony Cirelli and Alex Killorn. Fortier has four goals and seven assists (11 points) in 17 AHL games this season.

Fortier was a second-round pick in the 2018 draft and could be set to make his NHL debut this week after Mathieu Joseph was banged up over the weekend. The 21-year-old is third on Syracuse with 11 points (4G / 7A) in 17 games.
